Datta Netralaya, established in 1981 by Dr. Prabhakar Patil, has been a pillar of excellence in eye care for over four decades. With a legacy built on trust, innovation, and compassionate service, we have consistently led the way in bringing advanced ophthalmic treatments to Yavatmal and surrounding regions.
We are proud to be the first eye hospital in Yavatmal to introduce sutureless cataract surgery via phacoemulsification in 2000, followed by topical phacoemulsification (no injection surgery) in 2002. Continuing our legacy of innovation, we also pioneered the use of the Abbott Sovereign Compact System with Ellips FX Technology, providing advanced phacoemulsification using both longitudinal and transverse ultrasound.
Under the leadership of Dr. Piyush Patil, who joined in 2015 to carry forward the legacy, Datta Netralaya has continued to break new ground. Dr. Patil is the first surgeon in Yavatmal to perform Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) implantation and the only one to do so to date. He also holds the record for the highest number of Multifocal Toric lens implantations in Vidarbha, along with the first Trifocal Intraocular Lens implantation in the region.

Using advanced computerized systems, our experienced staff conducts a thorough eye check-up including vision testing, intraocular pressure, refraction, and retina evaluation.
Based on the preliminary findings, our expert ophthalmologists (Dr. Prabhakar Patil / Dr. Piyush Patil) provide a detailed consultation and recommend the best course of action.
If needed, further diagnostic tests like OCT, Perimetry, or Ultrasound are done in-house for accurate analysis of conditions like glaucoma, retinal disorders, and cataract.
